•  Each Region Commissioner or someone representing the Region Commissioner must attend this meeting.  
• Any Region not represented will not be allowed to participate in their area Championship Meet
• All CYO Track and Field  coaches are invite

2015 Track and Field Season Begins March 1st! Region/Division Commissioner Meeting - 2/9/15

Track Packet is now updated and available online.  Every coach should download and review.  Major changes have been highlighted below.

There is a meeting for Region/Division Commissioners next Monday night at Archbishop Carroll HS. All coaches should have been invited to attend by their region commissioner.  Any coach who would like to step into a leadership position in their Region /Area for CYO Track and Field is encouraged to attend.

MAJOR CHANGES TO CYO TRACK & FIELD in 2015:

1. Elimination of the Grade Requirement.  Like Cross Country, Track and Field was given permission by the Archdiocese to eliminate the requirement that Novices be in at least 4th grade.  Therefore, all age groups are now determined solely by age as of December 31, 2014 and 3rd graders who were born in 2005 are eligible to compete as Novices this year. Note: elimination of the grade requirement as it previously pertained to Novices only, individuals who have graduated 8th grade are NOT eligible to participate in grade school CYO athletics, regardless of their age.
2. Area Relay Advancers have been reduced from 6 per Area to 5.  
3. Area Medalist - We have returned to awarding medals to only the top 6 athletes/relay teams at Area Champs
4. The Archdiocesan Track &Field Fee was increased from $10 to $11 per athlete.
5. All Region and Areas are required to use Automatic Timing for their Championship Meets

Franklin Field is again undergoing construction this year following UPenn graduation, therefore we are still in search of a site for Archdiocesan Champs.  Once a location has been confirmed, I will post it here online.

I haven't updated the Hy-Tek meet set-up for region/area meets yet. I will post it online once I have done so.

2014 Archdiocesan Champs - Final Results

Congratulations to all the runners who competed on Sunday.  There were a number of great races, finishes, and an exceptionally close overall girl's team score! The individual results are online at run the day (link to the right).  We will get a season summary of times for every meet this season soon and I will post with the complete team results. For now, congratulations to our Overall Girls and Boys Champions, St. Andrews - Newtown!

The race schedule for Sunday's Championship Meet is as follows:

1pm = Novice Girls

followed by:

8 year old Sub-Novice Boys and Girls - Born in 2006
7 year old Sub-Novice Boys and Girls - Born in 2007
6 year old Sub-Novice Boys and Girls - Born in 2008
5 year old Sub-Novice Boys and Girls - Born in 2009
 Individual and team award ceremony

(Medals for Sub-Novice races will be distributed at the finish line.)

Novice - Cadet Races will start approximately every 20 minutes.  Sub-Novice races will start every 8-10 minutes.   Parents and athletes are encouraged to arrive well in advance of their estimated race times.

Commemorative Championship Shirts, Postseason Team Shirts, and car magnets will be for sale.

Regional Meet Information

Yes Card Application

Pope John Paul II will be chartering a bus to go to Nationals.  Here is the information:

• The bus (or busses) will leave from the Pope John Paul II elementary school in the Coatesville Area (Chester County) on Thursday morning, November 20 around 7:30.  If we get multiple buses, perhaps we can arrange for different departure points.
• The bus will leave Nashville for home around 7:30 a.m. on Sunday, November 23.
• For budgetary purposes, plan on $140 per seat.  This could be less depending on the number of riders.  The fuller the bus, the less the cost. 
• The cost includes all driver gratuities as well as transportation back and forth from the hotel to the XC course on Friday and Saturday.
• We may not be able to accommodate everybody, so please have parents respond as quickly as possible to guarantee a seat.  For example, if we get 60 requests and a bus holds 56, it is not cost effective to rent two buses.

XC Results will be posted online by Run the Day each week, usually each Sunday evening.  There is a link to the righ for their results page.  (2nd link down from top)

Reminder - Parking on the grass at Belmont Plateau is prohibited. There were a number of cars ticketed this weekend.  This information has been passed to the coaches and posted online numerous times.  Parking on the grass is at your own risk!  Parking on the grass, on the course, is definitely not allowed! Also, you can not park on the trial going back into the woods. 

(The lesson here is we should all be carpooling to help reduce the number of cars at the Plateau!)
