Congrats to Emma Keenan, a CYO track and field alumni from our Lady of Guadalupe, who ran the 800m leg for the NCAA Distance Medley Relay Champions, Georgetown University!
Emma currently holds the Cadet Girl's 800m Record - 2:16.64.
plus Tom Coyle from St. Stan's was the 1200m leg on the Stanford Men's DMR which finished 4th!

Competition Changes/Clarifications for 2016:
Use of the fly zone is now limited to the 4x100m relays only. Use of the fly zone is officially prohibited in CYO track and field in the 4x200 at every level of competition.
The 4x200m relay will be run using a 2 turn stagger at every Championship meet, including Archdiocesan Champs at Franklin Field.
The 4x200m relay will include only 5 teams per heat at the Archdiocesan Championship Meet to help mitigate the risks of collisions in the exchange zones.

Congratulations to the Philadelphia CYO Cross Country team!
In all, we took 236 children to the national championships. This is a record high number for our group. The subnovice girls, subnovice boys and the novice boys came away with a national championship. The novice girls and the minor girls were runner ups. The meet drew over 2500 competitors from across the country so competition was tough. Nolan Yeagle won the subnovice boys championship. Emma Zwall won the 12 year old girls championship and Olivia Cellini won the 6 year old girls championship. The top 25 in each age group received medals and the Philadelphia CYO came away with 41 medals in the 8 races that we entered (not counting the high school races.)
It was quite a day for the entire group. Congrats to the runners, the coaches and their parents. It was a wonderful experience that they all will remember for a very long time.
