2010 Meet Set Up

I've noticed that a number of people have already downloaded the 2010 Meet Set Up. It is that time of year when I remind everyone NOT to make changes to the meet set up. The age divisions and age up date are set correctly for the 2010 season. Meet directors may change the Meet Name, Date, and Location in the Meet Set Up, and the Lane Preferences under Seeding Preferences. The meet is currently set for Franklin Field's lane preference: 6,7,8,9,5,4,3,2. Information about standard lane preferences is in the 2010 track packet.

No one should add a team to the program! If you have a team in your region or area that is not on the current list, please email me and request that team to be added and I will update the meet and send it back to you.

We are two months away from region/division championships. This is a reminder to all commissioners that region/division meet results should be inputted into Meet Manager and forwarded to your Area Commissioner by 5pm on Monday, May 17th. All relay names MUST be included or that relay will not be allowed to participate at the Area or Archdiocesan Championship.

Region/division & Area commissioners are reminded that they are required to check the names of all relay athletes when they report for the event. Please do not put the onus of disqualifying a relay on the Area or Archdiocesan Commissioner by failing to check that all athletes are eligible to compete in the relay. Region/division Commissioners are also reminded to ensure that athletes did not participate in too many events (more than 3 for a novice or minor, more than 4 for a cadet). Athletes who are participating in events beyond their age group limit will be disqualified from an event(s) based on the chronology of the meet. Relay teams that included an athlete who participated in too many events risk being disqualified. (i.e. a novice competes in the 100, 200, 4x100, and 4x200. The entire 4x200 will be disqualified and not advanced as it was the 4th event the novice competed in.)

By forwarding their results region/division and Area commissioners are affirming that they have checked the participating athletes in all relays and that no athlete has participated in too many events.

Are we going to have a Track and Field National meet this year as well?

I'm not sure I understand your question, but I'll take a couple stabs at it.

1.) There is no CYO national meet that I know of.
2.) If you mean is there going to be a Philadelphia CYO team which runs in an AAU or other National Junior meet, the answer is no. No one has ever formed an AAU or similar team from Philadelphia CYO Track & Field that I know of.

Hope that helps
