Congrats to the NL East Champion Phillies!
The mission of CYO sports is to help develop our Catholic youth through healthy & enjoyable competition. Thanks to the hard work and dedication of many people, past and present, Philadelphia CYO track & field and cross country have grown to be among of the largest and most competitive programs in America. 1st meet results
Here are the results from the first meet.
Also, it should be noted that if your runner wore the wrong number or ran in the wrong race, they were dropped from the results and did not receive credit for the race. All questions about results should be directed to Mary Ellen Malloy, Archdiocesan Cross Country Commissioner. (sunriseXC@aol.com)

More info on Rostering - UPDATED
update - I got the link for the coach's eligibility affidavit to work. previously it was not available.
Ok, more info is trickling down. I have information on how the rostering process should go:
1.) Use Form 1 (.pdf version) to submit the information necessary to have a number assigned to your athletes. Submit this form to Mary Ellen Malloy no later than 10:00 PM on the Thursday before the athlete’s first meet. Mary Ellen’s e-mail address is as follows: sunrisexc@aol.com
2.) Complete the traditional roster form (.pdf version) to roster athletes for cross country. One roster for Boys (Novice, Minor and Cadet) in alphabetical order, one roster for Girls (Novice, Minor and Cadet) in alphabetical order, and a third roster for Subnovices (boys and girls combined) in alphabetical order. The roster must be handed in with all required signatures and a completed coach’s eligibility affidavit and check in payment of the roster fee in order for you to receive your athlete’s numbers. Checks should be made payable to Philadelphia CYO-Cross Country.
3.) Roster fees are as follows:
$8 for each of the first ten boys and $8 for each of the first ten girls
$3 for each additional boy and $3 for each addition girl
$3 for each sub novices.
(i.e. a team with 14 girls, 10 boys, and 3 subnovices would pay $181 ($92+$80+$9))
4.)You can submit Form 1 and additional rosters forms for additional runners through the meet on October 12, 2008.

2008 Cross Country Updates
The Archdiocesan Cross Country Commissioner Mary Ellen Malloy has asked me to use this site to keep people updated for this year's CYO Cross Country season, and I am, of course, happy to oblige. Please remember that Mary Ellen is the Commissioner, meaning she has the final say on how things are run, and all questions about Cross Country should be directed to her (SunriseXC@aol.com) .
Due to unforeseen complications, CYO sports' online rostering initiative has been suspended until further notice. We'll be going back to the old days of paper rosters for the '08 Cross Country season. I will post the roster forms later today so that everyone can download them. Please turn in your rosters at the first meet.
Also new this year, Kindergarteners will be allowed to participate at all Cross Country meets, and all Subnovices should be rostered.
The first Cross Country meet is Sunday, September 14th.
A reminder that parking spots along the finish line chute on the access road are reserved for meet officals and that clown with the starter's pistol.
Parking on the grass beside the access road is PROHIBITED by the PHILADELPHIA POLICE DEPARTMENT! You WILL be ticketed if you park on the grass (to the tune of $100 I believe). This is a saftey issue, if people park on the road and the grass, its neigh impossible for emergency medical vechiles and police to get down the access road and turn around. We have had problems in the past when runners inevitably pass out or step on debris while running and need medical attention. Please help us keep our runners (and our operating permit) safe!
Parents and coaches are also reminded that they are not to stand on the access road side of the chute to take photographs. All spectators are asked to stand behind the rope line during races.
